Interesting way of looking at the world.

This explains why inequality is such a societal destabiliser. If you see “unwealth” – the gap between what you have and what you desire – as a measure of happiness, seeing others at that level only adds to that unhappiness.

Particularly if bridging the gap seems unattainable.

But what I find really interesting is how the poor and dispossessed often relate to corrupt leaders who have bridged their own unwealth gap – as if someone else attaining the unattainable assuages your own unhappiness.
